4th Annual UCAPO Day Picnic

The most famous Chinese American organization in the greater Washington DC area, the Union of Chinese American Professional Organizations (UCAPO), is going to host the fourth Annual UCAPO Day picnic which has been scheduled on Sunday, August 26, 2012. Now all the preparatory work is well underway in. This will be the first public event organized by UCAPO after new Board and executive teams were elected last May. On August 26, Chinese American professionals in greater Washington area across the fields of computer sciences, network technology, biopharmaceuticals, medical and health, financial management, business, news media and art performances will get together at Shelters A, B, C, the Black Hill Regional Park, MD. This event aims enhancing friendship and promoting information exchanges between Chinese American professionals. It will also provide a high quality professional consulting services opportunity for local communities. Here, UCAPO’s new leadership is sincerely inviting all sectors of Chinese American professionals, Chinese students from local colleges/universities, and our American friends to join us with your family and friends on August 26.

UCAPO is a non-profit organization registered in Washington DC, and an umbrella association that coordinates more than 30 Chinese American professional organizations in the greater Washington area. UCAPO is an integrated consortium that consists of both Chinese and American professionals, representing nearly 50,000 outstanding Chinese professionals and elites in this area. The annual UCAPO Day event was appreciated by Chinese American professionals during the past years. This year, the organizers in each shelter will provide delicious picnic food and interesting outdoor recreational or sports games. In addition, a number of professional consulting services will be provided on site, including mini job fair, free medical/health consultation, retirement financial management, real estate and loan consultation, business opportunities in both the US and China, as well as legal advice.

Montgomery County elected officials and Chinese embassy diplomats will join us in this event. More than 23 organizations have currently enrolled for participation. Several companies and organizations have taken sponsorship or provide prizes for activities. Currently Shelter A will hold organizations of most biotech, pharmaceutical, or health industry and educations. Shelter B will include art, business, finance organizations. Shelter C will cover most information technology organizations.

Please register online in advance at www.ucapo.org, and pay fee charges, by credit card, of $8 for adults (>13 years old), $5 for elderly (aged 65 and over) /children (under the age of 13). Children under 5 will be free. If register onsite, the charges will be $10 and $6, respectively.
